I See GIANTS

🦄: I see GIANTS all around me. Not too long ago I feared them. Now they just mostly annoy me , overwhelm me, and make me sad for a time. I’m comforted to know that I am not alone in this phenomenon. Caleb, of the tribe of Judah, was one of the twelve chosen to do advance reconnaissance of the Promised Land. Caleb saw giants during his mission. Unlike me, he was unafraid as he advised Moses, “Let us go up at once to possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.” (Numbers 13:30) The majority of those with him, however, were afraid; and vetoed the idea of going immediately– choosing instead to wait an additional forty-five years to claim their inheritance.
In my very recent past, I was crushed by many giants. They all have names: Financial Worry, Health Concern, Job Stress, Single Parenting, Racist Misogynist, and Smalltown Mindedness to name just a few… I made one mistake that allowed them to defeat me. I turned my back on God. I had just barley survived a battle against three Grimm-Reaper-Looking Giants and I was tired… And mad. I was so angry at God, that I just walked away. And lost what I thought was the war.
Just For Moms!
Ladies, if you put any effort into parenting, then you are aware that being a mom is hard work. We are constantly judged by others who have not experienced motherhood of human children.

Once I became aware of my mistake and rectified it, I was able to overcome my fear of giants. Unfortunately, they do still exist, but I have a “secret” weapon that is no secret. I have learned to seek and listen to the voice of God. King David (No stranger to giants, himself) said in the forth verse of Psalm 29, “The voice of the Lord is powerful, the voice of the lord is majestic.” Imagine a whisper of sound that envelops you in warmth, security, and comfort saying, “I have loved you with an everlasting love, I have drawn you with loving kindness.” (Jeremiah 31:3). I am learning to change my focus to gratitude and my purpose to servitude by counting my blessing no matter how small.
Knowledge that I always have been (and always will be) protected within my Father’s loving arms, has a way of casting away all fears. Even fear of giants. Without fear, I can go when called, to collect my inheritance.
🦋: I can hear the voice of God everywhere I choose: In the patter of rain on a roof; In the song of a bird; In waves crashing on the beach.
