Morning Meeting with #theBossofMe 10.27.2020

😇: Psalm 27:11 Teach me thy way, O Lord, and lead me in a plain path.
🦄: To be honest, I had trouble gaining inspiration from either this verse or the accompanying devotional. Don’t get me wrong, the piece is a beautifully written prayer, but it isn’t my prayer. I like the part about God teaching me His way, but my mind arrests on the word “plain”. I don’t believe anyone who knows me personally would ever use that word to describe me and I definitely have no interest in identifying with it. I do, however desire above all else, “to take God’s path even when it is a rough and hard vertical climb.
🦋: A humble person is not hard to respect.
🎬: I must ask for God to mold my will to his, Grant me perseverance even when I do not see the fruit of my labors, cause my contentment with what I have, and diminish my appetite for pleasure and ease.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ Inspired By: Our Daily Bread/Choosing Hope (Lisa M. Samara) 😇: Micah 7:7 But for me, I watch in hope for the Lord.
📚: The profit Micah confessed “God’s hope can break through even the darkest of seasons,” as he experienced the chosen turning away from God. “Not one upright person seemed to remain (Micah 7:2).” But Micah did not abandon hope and chose to trust that God was at work even if the evidence was hard to spot amid the devastation.
🦄: Today I sit outside in fuzzy pajama pants, tank, and cardigan inwardly cursing the temperature drop and dreary skies as winter descends on my little corner of southeast Texas. I’m not a fan of winter. I keep alerting at the ding that signifies a new email has arrived, as I wait for expected good news. But instead of good news, I’m receiving messages from candidates (who are far more wealthy than I) soliciting funds. Not one of these public “servants”— either local nor national— has asked what they can do for me if elected. If not candidate-bots, the messages are from one of the many groups of my association that expect me to work for free… with no support from them for my efforts for them. All this, while they are “fighting” for equality and opportunity for people who look like me. 😒🙄 I can’t help but feel, even with this historical election (aren’t they all historical, tho? 💁🏽♀️) a week away, that “not one upright person seems to remain”.
🦋: Hope on the Lord is never wasted.
🎬: Until God brings the time with no more winter and no more pain, I must rest my hope in Him— instead of giving into despair during my dark and seemingly endless winter.

😇: Psalm 19:1-2 The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day, they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge.
🦄: Last week I went to the park with a friend. After about a mile hike, we arrived at the spot I had previously discovered. A nice shady area on a hill overlooking a lake of some sort. As we sat and just enjoyed life, my friend pointed out a dragon protecting the forest on the other side of the water. It took me a minute to find her, but once I did, I was able to see others. The gift of God’s original artwork, aka nature, is free and always available to enjoy.
🦋: Amazing beauty is all around me.
🎬: I must spend time just soaking in the awesomeness of the Creator.
