๐: Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.
๐ฆ: I was just thinking about what I wanted to express gratefulness for for November 6th. Only one answer emerged: My BFF. Our friendship is an odd one as we have very different, opposing beliefs. The beauty of our โshipโ is that we accept each other exactly as we are at whatever moment we encounter each other. On a recent phone call, I expressed that I was feeling some type of way, and had a startlingly desire to set some things on fireโฆ ( I was probably speaking figurativelyโฆ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ๐คท๐ฝโโ๏ธ). My friends response: โDo you need water or gasoline?โ
๐ฆ: God often supplies my needs through the thoughtfulness of a friend.
๐ฌ: I must remember that the sharpening of countenance is a two way street and to ask God to supply me with a personalized direction on how I can keep my friend sharp as well.
โจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจโจ Inspired By: Our Daily Bread/Returning Home (Winn Collier) ๐: Zechariah 10:9 In distant lands they will remember meโฆ and they will return.
๐: Five days prior to shipping out to the Korean War, one soldier married his sweetheart. Less than a year later, his bride was informed of his death and given his effects, which included a jacket with pockets stuffed with the letters sheโd written to her husband. Imagine her joy, when her man escaped from captivity and returned home to her.
๐: In Zechariah, God had sentenced His people to exile, far from home, as punishment for their rebellion against Him. They longed for home, but had no way to rescue themselves. God promised, โI will restore them because I have compassion on them.โ (Zechariah 10:6) God met His peoples ache for homeโ not because of their perseverance, but because of His mercy: โI will signal for themโฆ and they will return.โ (vv. 8-9)
๐ฆ: God knows my desires and his call can penetrate my feelings of exile.
๐ฌ: I must answer Godโs call and trust him to see me safely home.

๐: Isaiah 30:18 Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show me compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him.
๐ฆ: I can become so overwhelmed by my own shame, troubles, or misconceptions that I miss out on the most simple and beautiful truth: My God greatly desires to show me grace.
๐ฆ: God has no desire to show me his anger or his punishment.
๐ฌ: I must remain humbled by Godโs love despite His justice.
